The Best Instagram and Photography Spots in Essex
I’m always in awe of fashion influencers who feed is full of them prancing around London in their best outfits. After all, their photos always look so beautiful and clean – sometimes the background is prettier than their outfits! (I’m joking lol)
However, as a blogger and Instagrammer based in Essex, I’m always desperate to find beautiful backgrounds for my upcoming outfit photos without going as far as London. After all, travelling to London every weekend just to get a photo would soon become costly.
For any other Essex bloggers like me looking to find the perfect Instagram background, here are my top five places in Essex to get snaps for your Instagram:
Leigh on Sea
I absolutely love Leigh on Sea for taking photos! I think it has something to do with the variety of places to take nice photos. Whether you want relaxed, fun photos by the sea or blogger-inspired townhouse shots, Leigh on Sea has everything you could want in terms of backdrops.
For truly authentic English town photos, why not take a trip to Maldon – a pretty, little town on the Blackwater Estuary! I’m quite familiar with the town of Maldon as it’s where I currently work so I spend day in day out there. Why not discover the Notting Hill vibes of the Maldon townhouses dotted just off the high street or take a stroll down the promenade and grab a snap of your ice cream!
Southend on Sea
Southend gets a bad rep for being a shithole – which I mean, is fair… Despite it’s reputation, the town is actually quite a nice place to take photos for your blog or Instagram. For example, take this photo from my Instagram. It was taken in front of one of the many beach huts down Southend’s pier. Why not take a trip down the pier to get a photo like mine or a snap of you playing on the massive chess board! Then, go for a spot of shopping in the high street and try to find some fun graffiti to pose in front of.
If you want your Instagram to ooze country chic, I couldn’t recommend Flatford Mill in Colchester enough! Throw on your Hunter wellies and padded gillet and take a stroll through the good ol’ Essex countryside. Plus, while you’re there you can get a spot to eat in their cafe looking over the River Stour. You definitely won’t be disappointed at the amount of pretty landscape shots you can take while exploring Flatford Mill.
