Mikel Arteta has stated that Takehiro Tomiyasu is undergoing evaluation in front of Arsenal’s Premier League matchup with Luton Town.
The Japan international has had a great run recently for the Gunners, starting the last six matches in all competitions, including the weekend’s 2-1 victory against Wolves. However, his availability for the trip to Kenilworth Road has been questioned due to concerns about an injury setback during the second half.
This is because, at the end of the Wolves game, there seemed to be a repeat of the calf ailments that plagued Tomiyasu during his first season in England. However, Arteta was quick to dismiss these reports, preferring to wait for tests to be performed by the club’s medical team.
“He had a sensation. “I’m not sure if it was exhaustion,” the manager of Arsenal said at the Saturday press conference after the game. We didn’t want to take any chances, so we decided to change right away. Let’s evaluate him to find out how he is.
Even though football. London is aware that Tomiyasu has a calf issue, Arteta has stated that the 25-year-old is still being evaluated and that a decision would be taken on game day. As a result, Tomiyasu is still expected to play against Luton.
“We evaluated him following the match. “We removed him as a precaution,” he stated during Monday afternoon’s pre-game press conference. “We’ll hold out. We’ll determine whether using him is beneficial tomorrow. Given his strength, I’m sure he’ll be alright.”
