Athletes who made the most assists or goals when the team needed them, in situations where the team tied or lost by a goal, the duos who combined for the most goals, the defenders who took the most shots against their goals, and the most efficient minutes on the field to participate directly in goals. Gil, the 36-year-old veteran, was the player who was most adept at positioning himself to block or deflect shots from the opposition. Of the 127 completions, 83 were from inside the box and 44 from outside the box .
Star of Atlético Mineiro, Hulk continues to show vitality at the height of his 37 years. The veteran has always stood out for being a kicker. If the opposing defense gives space, the attacker doesn’t miss the chance to score. He was only behind Suárez as the player with the most shots in the 2023 Brazilian Championship. There were 125 shots, with 50 attempts on goal (40%).

Teams that finish the most
shots in Brasileirão 2023. In total, there were 615 shots, an average of 16.2 shots per game. Champion Palmeiras hammered their opponents hard, taking second place, with almost 600 attempts.
Despite 11th place in the ranking of shots, Grêmio needed to risk less than everyone else to find the net, with an average of just 8.0 shots for each ball in the net. With Luis Suárez in attack, it’s easier to convert chances, right?
Teams with more ball possession
The team with the highest average ball possession in Brasileirão 2023 was Fluminense , with 58.4% over the 38 matches, a hallmark of coach Fernando Diniz’s work. São Paulo is in second place , with 58.3%, losing its lead in the last round.
At the other end of the table, bottom team América-MG had the ball least in percentage terms among the 20 elite clubs, with an average of 43.2%.
The duo that scored the most goals considering assists and shots
Throughout Brasileirão 2023, several pairs showed rapport and intimacy with the goal, but none managed to overcome Hulk and Paulinho, from Atlético-MG . On the rise, the attackers were fundamental in Galo’s great start in the final stretch of the Brasileirão with goals and assists from one to the other.
Of the 51 goals scored by the Minas Gerais club, the combination of Hulk and Paulinho was responsible for 18%. There were 32 shots in which the duo helped each other, generating nine balls in the net for the Atleticians.

Luís Suarez, from Grêmio , and Hulk, from Atlético-MG , were the players with the most goal contributions in Brasileirão 2023. The 36-year-old Uruguayan star had 28 appearances in total, with 17 goals and 11 assists. The performance helped take Tricolor Gaúcho to the Libertadores in the first year after moving up from Série B to Série A.
Second place in this regard was Galo’s star, Hulk. The 37-year-old player participated in 26 moves that generated goals for Atlético-MG in this championship. In total, there were 15 goals and 11 assists. The player was closely followed by Paulinho, also from Galo, who had a total of 22 appearances, with 20 goals and two assists.
