Aoife Corrigan, a specialist in dogs, has chosen four candidates for Saturday’s contest at Curraheen Park.
On Saturday night in Curraheen Park, the 2022 edition of the Laurels Final will be held. There is a fantastic supporting card on the schedule, and I have four picks that I think will do well.
Trap 4 Flashing Willow, the first of them, which will serve as the card’s banker, is running at 7.37. If he displays his typical early speed, things should go smoothly because of his great pace to the first curve. 2nd Trap Skylight Despite going quicker than the favorite in the past, Blake has won 32 races, so he deserves respect. Flashing Willow, however, will dazzle the lids and has a chance to win everything.
In the open 575 that is the 8.41, I’m backing up Trap 1 Bockos Crystal. This gal has been flying lately, has a tremendous pace, begins and stays, and I believe that if she leads, she will be difficult to pass. 3rd Trap Magical The trials would indicate that Mary, a fiercely competitive woman who has been absent, is soaring, but if Bockos Crystal can make the most of the inside, she can win once more.
My third choice is in the actual Laurels Final, which starts at 9.29 a.m., and what a terrific field we have for that. Graham Holland, who has won bets this three times and is represented twice in the championship, has had the most success as a trainer in the past ten years.
Despite being a sluggish starter, he is a man of the highest caliber and is beautifully sketched on the inside. I believe he can score if he can pull off a smooth escape from the traps. Trap 1 Ballymac Whispa was quite amazing in the semifinals, but she lacks early ability and will depend on luck moving forward, so I am backing Good Cody’s early pace to flash the lids and win the race.
My last pick, a Trap 1 named Wi Can Dream, will run in the 9.45 Open 550 and, despite his poor performance on the previous day, if he repeats his performance from October 15, he will have a chance. Romeo Magico, who won the English Derby, has had excellent trials and may be the opponent they must defeat, but I believe Wi may Dream may resume his winning ways if he can put his best foot forward.
