The first week of the Vikas Bahl-directed film Ganapath starring Tiger Shroff, Kriti Sanon, and Amitabh Bachchan was a complete bust at the Indian box office. Thanks in large part to the Dussehra celebrations, Ganapathy has become a disaster, with a seven-day total of little over Rs 10 crores—dreadful is still a mild phrase for what it has become. Even if there aren’t any big new releases till Tiger 3 in Diwali, the movie won’t do well in the future box office. Ganapathy had the best release a major player could have had this year, but it completely squandered the chance.
Ganapath, the most anticipated film this Dussehra, makes slightly more than Rs 10 crores in its first week of release.
It is uncommon for a big-budget action movie like Ganapath to have fewer than 10 lakh viewers during its whole theatrical run. Without a release in major national chains like PVR, Inox, Cinepolis, and Miraj, the Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon starrer has been outperformed in box office revenue by a dubbed Hindi movie called Leo. During the Dussehra season, Leo was the dominant sign, followed by Bhagavanth Kesari, Ganapath, Ghost, Tiger Nageswara Rao, and Yaariyan 2. Fortunately, Yaariyan 2, Unlike Ganapathy, did not have a high production cost and was able to recoup its budget through non-theatrical sales. A few successful movies, such as Singham 3 and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, could help Tiger Shroff resume his career as a lucrative movie star. Regarding Kriti Sanon, she intends to do well with The Crew.
