In the 2014–2016 Indian Premier League, Sanjay Bangar was a member of the Punjab Kings team for three years.
The IPL team Punjab Kings has named former Indian all-rounder Sanjay Bangar as its new head of cricket development. He will be joining the Punjab Kings for the second time (Previously Kings XI Punjab). He was an assistant coach for PBKS in the 2014 Indian Premier League. In addition, he received a promotion to head coach, and Punjab achieved their highest league finish to date. Punjab Kings placed second in the standings and were the runners-up in the 2024 Indian Premier League.
Sanjay said in a media release that Punjab currently has a good core of players and he is privileged to join the PBKS squad. Bangar said, “It’s my privilege to be with the Punjab Kings again. We have a good core of players as evidenced by the fact that we have the lowest number of player releases this year. The challenge is to give the squad the best support possible during and after the season to make the team stronger and deliver success.”
Sanjay Bangar is welcomed by the Punjab Kings.
CEO of PBKS Satish Menon praised the move and stated that Bangar’s ability to forge bonds with players on the team will help the team. “Sanjay is an experienced coach with great credentials,” stated Satish Menon. We will take advantage of his abilities to foster relationships among the team members during the season and beyond. In 2015 and 2016, Bangar led PBKS over two IPL seasons.
PBKS also posted a welcome message on their social media post and tweeted, “We are delighted to announce the return of our sher, Sanjay Bangar as the new Head of Cricket Development at Punjab Kings. Mr. Bangar brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our organization, and we are confident that under his leadership, our cricket development programs will reach new heights.” Punjab are waiting for their maiden IPL title.
