Section 108 by Nawazuddin Siddiqui is retracted by Anees Bazmee; details inside

Anees Bazmee has signed on as a presenter for Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Regina Cassandra’s next horror film, Section 108, Pinkvilla exclusively revealed on August 26. Not long later, Regina’s character brought a scam case to the attention of Siddiqui’s character, the lawyer, in the official teaser for the film. Bazmee’s role as a film presenter was also confirmed by the same teaser. However, after two months, we found out that Bazmee was no longer involved in this initiative.

Exclusive information from industry sources has shown that Anees Bazmee has withdrawn from Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Section 108. This film will no longer be presented by the director, who is best known for helming films such as No Entry, Singh Is Kinng, Welcome, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. Although the exact cause of his abrupt departure is unknown, he reportedly had a cordial parting with the producers after disclosing his displeasure. After a 21-year break since helming the psychological thriller Deewangee, starring Ajay Devgn, Akshaye Khanna, and Urmila Matondkar, Bazmee was expected to make his thriller debut with this film.

In the meanwhile, the movie began production on October 13 and has completed its first schedule, with a February 2024 theatrical release planned. Rasikh Khan’s film Section 108 centers on the intriguing case of a missing billionaire who will shortly be ruled dead. This gripping thriller, named after Section 108 of the Indian Evidence Act 1872, states that if a man is not heard from by those who would naturally have heard of him if he had been alive for seven years, the burden of proving that he is alive is shifted to the person who affirms it, stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui as a lawyer and Regina Cassandra as an insurance investigating officer.

Two weeks after filming began, Anees Bazmee announced her resignation from her role as presenter of Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s next thriller.

Anees Bazmee was reached and confirmed the news, but he would not say further.
