The Indian squad competing at the September Asian Games will be captained by Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Sometimes they have their plans and think about the game from their perspective, so I feel it is important to back them.”

In the first two Twenty20 International matches versus Ireland, Ruturaj Gaikwad performed admirably as well. After a powerplay, the game was cut short by rain while he was on a 19-run streak.
