During their visit to South Africa, Team India will play two tests, three ODIs, and three T20Is.
In December and January of 2023–2024, Team India is scheduled to go on a multi-format trip to South Africa. Three Twenty20 Internationals will open the tour on December 10. On Thursday, December 30, the Indian selection committee unveiled the team, which included three different captains for the three distinct formats. The test side will be led by Rohit Sharma.
However, KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav lead their respective teams in ODIs and T20Is. Several individuals have been given opportunities by the selectors for the upcoming series, although only three players are included in every squad in all three formats. The following three players are included in squads for the South Africa tour, representing various forms.
Three Indian athletes have been selected for the South Africa tour in squads for all three formats:
The best-run scorer in the just-completed five-match Twenty20 International series between Australia and India was Ruturaj Gaikwad. He has demonstrated excellent form and was expected to represent the nation in all formats. As a result, he was called up for all three forms in South Africa as a reward for his success. He’s probably going to make his test debut too, since India is experimenting with fresh players.
Another player who will be performing in all three formats during the South Africa tour is Shreyas Iyer. His performance in the just-finished ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 saw him score over 500 runs, demonstrating his tremendous form. Because of this, the BCCI wants to offer him more opportunities, and he will play in a variety of forms in South Africa. For him, it will be a positive experience.
